Hudson Valley Improv is a supportive adult training community rooted in creativity, kindness, and personal empowerment. We believe play is essential, and that every person deserves a space to feel safe, seen, and creatively free.
Hudson Valley Improv welcomes adults of all ages, genders, identities, races, sexual orientations, body types, abilities, and lived experiences. Improv is built on trust. We ask all students to:
Students are free to decline any exercise. We prioritize emotional and physical safety at all times.
Improv is an ensemble art form. Each student plays a role in supporting the group. Please commit to attending all classes. Absences may affect moving on to the next level.
Students advance with instructor approval. Levels build on each other, and we want you to succeed at a sustainable pace.
Completion of Level 5 (The Mastery) qualifies students to apply for Advanced Electives, with approval from HVI.
Tuition is non-refundable. If Hudson Valley Improv cancels a class or changes dates and you cannot attend, we will refund you.
In rare cases, a qualified substitute instructor may teach your class. Students will be notified in advance whenever possible.
All students must sign a yearly release form for classes and shows. A link is included in each class description.
Please do not record classes, rehearsals, or other students without explicit consent. What happens in the room stays in the room—respect everyone’s privacy.
